Counselling, at your pace.
Counselling is a space to talk things through with someone who listens carefully and does not judge. I am an integrative counsellor and a registered member of the BACP, and I work with adults one to one, in Tansley or on Zoom.

What counselling is
Counselling is a talking therapy. We meet regularly, and you bring whatever is on your mind: something that has happened, a feeling that will not shift, or a sense that things could be different.
My part is to listen, to help you make sense of what is going on, and to work with you on what you would like to change. I work integratively, which means drawing on more than one approach and fitting the work to you rather than the other way round.

Counselling, in more detail
What a session is like
We sit and talk, at whatever pace suits you. You decide what to bring, and nothing has to be said before you are ready.
Sessions are one hour, in person in Tansley or on Zoom.
How many sessions
Some people come for a handful of sessions to work through one thing. Others prefer longer term support. We will talk about what seems right at the first call, and review it as we go.
Where it sits with everything else
Counselling blends naturally with hypnotherapy and EMDR, so if another approach would help more, the work can change without starting again.
It works alongside medical care, not instead of it.
What counselling can help with
You do not need a name for what you are feeling to start counselling. Many people come simply because something does not feel right and they would like to talk it through.
The first session is a chance to see how it feels to work together, with no commitment to go further.
People often come to counselling for
- Anxiety and worry
- Low mood
- Stress and overwhelm
- Loss and bereavement
- Relationships and family
- Life changes and transitions
- Confidence and self-esteem
Where counselling fits
With anxiety
Counselling alongside hypnotherapy, on the patterns that keep anxiety going.
For trauma
Trauma counselling, with EMDR where it helps, at a pace that feels safe.
